The "Key Technology of Hydrometallurgical Copper Extraction from Basic-Gangue-Containing Oxidized Ore and its Industrialization" Initiated by China Nerin won the Second Prize for Science and

         The People's Government of Jiangxi Province recently issued the Decision of the People's Government of Jiangxi Province on Science and Technology Awards of Jiangxi Province in 2018 (GFF [2019] No. 15), saying that the "Key Technology of Hydrometallurgical Copper Extraction from Basic-Gangue-Containing Oxidized Ore and its Industrialization" initiated by China Nerin won the second prize for science and technology progress.

         After years of technical research, a set of key technologies including methods, processes and equipment for the treatment of basic-gangue-containing oxidized ore has been developed and made significant breakthroughs and innovations in this field. The research results have been successfully applied in Shituru Copper Mine, DRC, with efficient recovery of copper. The operation practice shows that the main technical and economic indicators are advanced, and the economic, social and environmental benefits are significant. It is of great significance to improving the supportability of copper resources in China. The results have evaluated by the authoritative experts in the industry who considered that it has successfully solved the problem of hydrometallurgical copper extraction from complex oxidized copper ores through several independently innovative technologies. China Nerin owns its independent intellectual property rights and the technologies as a whole are at the international advanced level.
